The Seventh Day, Part Two: Inviting Jesus to Return

Continued from The Seventh Day, Part One: Rest, Renewal, and the Mystery of Time.

Throughout the Bible, the Seraphim are described as fiery, flying serpents โ€” powerful beings of light and fire. But in Revelation, the dragon, the serpent, and the beast are symbols of deception and destruction.

Israel’s struggle throughout the Old Testament is with idolatry and sexual sin appearing repeatedly โ€” men worshiping foreign gods, women selling themselves. The story returns again and again to Adam, Eve, and the Serpent โ€” a story of misplaced desire and the fall from oneness.

The Beast: A Cycle of Days and Desires

The “beast” of Revelation may not be new โ€” perhaps it is the same beastly nature introduced in:

  • Day 2: Division and duality
  • Day 6: Beasts and man โ€” the struggle between divine consciousness and primal urges

The battle isnโ€™t just out there โ€” itโ€™s within the mind.

Satan doesnโ€™t need to appear in person when he can influence through systems, media, institutions โ€” and even our thoughts. Why expose himself when he can let others take the fall in his place as he did with Adam and Eve?

Heavenโ€™s Court: Where Every Thought Is Weighed

The Bible describes something that might surprise many people โ€” a courtroom in Heaven.

In the Book of Job, Satan appears before God and asks permission to test Jobโ€™s faith. Itโ€™s not a myth. Itโ€™s a picture of how spiritual justice works โ€” even Satan must operate within Godโ€™s legal system.

Now, many believe that after Jesus’ death and resurrection, Satan lost his ability to “sift” people like wheat, as he once asked to do with Peter (Luke 22:31). Jesus now stands as our Advocate โ€” our Defender โ€” in this heavenly courtroom.

But this doesnโ€™t mean the enemy is gone.

Instead of testing us physically, Satan has shifted to the battlefield of the mind.

He works through:

  • Deception: Twisting truth just enough to confuse and divide.
  • Fear: Using worst-case scenarios to keep us from faith and peace.
  • Temptation: Dangling empty pleasures that ultimately hurt us.
  • Self-doubt and shame: Whispering that weโ€™re too far gone, too broken.

Heโ€™s subtle. He doesnโ€™t need to possess anyone when he can simply influence thoughts that go unchallenged.

Heโ€™s like a lawyer who knows how to exploit legal loopholes โ€” especially the ones we donโ€™t even know weโ€™ve agreed to.

The Inner Courtroom

And hereโ€™s the twist:

The real courtroom isnโ€™t just in Heaven โ€” itโ€™s also inside each of us.

Every day, we hold trials in our mind: Who we trust. What we believe. What we choose.

And often, Satan uses our own voice to accuse us. He gets us to agree with lies:

  • โ€œIโ€™m worthless.โ€
  • โ€œGod doesnโ€™t hear me.โ€
  • โ€œThis is who I am, I canโ€™t change.โ€

But those thoughts are not our own โ€” theyโ€™re often planted. And when we agree with them, weโ€™re signing off on the enemyโ€™s case against us.

This is why the Bible says, โ€œTake every thought captiveโ€ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Because thoughts are more than passing ideas โ€” aside from what thoughts we think manifests within our reality, theyโ€™re also legal entry points in the spiritual realm.

Your Authority Still Matters

Even if you follow Jesus, you can still unknowingly give the enemy access:

  • Through bitterness and unforgiveness
  • Through fear and anxiety
  • Through pride or passivity
  • Through habitual sin or self-condemnation

Thatโ€™s why Jesus taught us to pray โ€œDeliver us from evilโ€ โ€” not once, but daily.

And why we must learn to invoke His name โ€” not just with words, but with conviction and clarity. And we are to take Holy Communion weekly.

Because the beast isn’t just “out there.”
It’s in the patterns we accept…
the thoughts we believe…
and the false identities we wear.

But the courtroom is not fixed.

In Christ, you have the right to appeal.
The power to rebuke.
And the freedom to choose who speaks the final word.

Not All That Glows Is Divine

Many today are turning away from organized religion and turning toward โ€œspiritualityโ€ โ€” a broad term that often includes energy work, crystals, astrology, chakras, channeling, and New Age philosophies. Often, this shift is driven by church hurt โ€” real pain caused by judgment, hypocrisy, or power abuse within religious systems.

While the reasons are valid, leaving religion doesn’t mean that everything “spiritual” is automatically safe or true. Itโ€™s impractical to expect imperfect people to practice anything perfectly, especially something as deep and sacred as faith while still learning themselves. Don’t condemn yourself because of someone else’s sin.

Walking away from religious institutions doesn’t mean we should stop being discerning about what we walk into.

Thereโ€™s a growing fascination with the “5D New Earth” โ€” a New Age idea that humanity is ascending into a higher realm of light, energy, and consciousness. It sounds positiveโ€ฆ and parts of it are. Love, healing, and vibrational awareness are not bad in themselves.

But here’s the warning:

Not all spirit is holy. Not all light is divine.

The 5th Heaven and the โ€œ5Dโ€ Illusion

In the Book of Enoch, an ancient text referenced by early Christians and Jews, the 5th Heaven is where the Watchers โ€” fallen angels โ€” are imprisoned. These were the beings who, according to the text, taught humanity forbidden knowledge in exchange for worship, leading to corruption, violence, and the rise of the Nephilim.

Now compare that to the โ€œ5D New Earthโ€ concept in New Age thinking โ€” a realm of artificial light, otherworldly knowledge, and cosmic wisdom that often downplays sin, accountability, or salvation.

It promotes:

  • Channeling mysterious โ€œlight beingsโ€
  • Psychic downloads without discernment
  • Energetic ascension without repentance

What the Watchers offered then, the 5D movement offers now:

  • Wisdom without humility
  • Power without responsibility
  • โ€œLightโ€ without obedience to God

It is a form of ascension without repentance, freedom without transformation, and identity without purpose.

The Problem with โ€œThe Universeโ€ and โ€œHigher Selfโ€

Another common idea is that we should look to โ€œthe Universeโ€ or โ€œour higher selfโ€ for guidance and truth. But this raises several problems:

  • The โ€œuniverseโ€ is not a personal being. It doesnโ€™t know your name, story, wounds, or destiny. It cannot offer personal correction, love, or guidance like a living God can.
  • The โ€œhigher selfโ€ is still self. Even if it is more aware than your present self, it is still imperfect, shaped by human limitation, trauma, and pride.
  • Without a moral compass, these concepts lack direction. They donโ€™t offer clear values, structure, or purpose toward true healing or holiness.

In the end, worshipping “source” or “the universe” becomes like staring into a mirror and hoping the reflection saves you.

Prophets vs. Psychics

Many donโ€™t realize that not all spirit communication is the same.

  • A prophet hears from God alone โ€” often with a burden, warning, or call to repent and return to truth.
  • A psychic may connect with some real informationโ€ฆ but often through idolatry, channeling unknown spirits or forces. And if those spirits are not of God, then who are they?

This is why Scripture warns: โ€œTest the spirits.โ€ (1 John 4:1)
Because evil doesnโ€™t always look evil. It can glow. It can flatter. It can promise โ€œpowerโ€ and โ€œtruthโ€ while slowly pulling us away from the Source of life.

Spiritual Deception in a Time of Confusion

Much of what is called โ€œlightโ€ today is actually artificial โ€” emotionally soothing but spiritually empty. The serpent in Eden didnโ€™t lie outright โ€” he just distorted the truth enough to cause destruction. Thatโ€™s how deception works.

This is why many who practice New Age spirituality feel connected but not transformed, aware but still empty, constantly seeking but never arriving.

We must remember:

Just because something feels spiritual doesnโ€™t mean itโ€™s sacred.

The True Source

God isnโ€™t just energy โ€” He is a Being. A loving Creator who gives not just light but truth, not just power but purpose. He doesnโ€™t manipulate our consent like the enemy does. He waits at the gate, like Jesus in Revelation, knocking โ€” and asking to be invited in.

Many spirits are tricksters. Some are ancient with a lot of knowledge in deception. Some are wounded human souls stuck in between realms awaiting judgement. Others are truly malicious โ€” dressed in light, offering half-truths that feed the ego but starve the soul.

This is why the Holy Spirit is unique. He convicts, purifies, uplifts, and always points back to the Father.

The Gate, the Guest, and the Glory

In the story of Lazarus, we see a subtle but powerful spiritual truth:

โ€œWhen she heard this, she arose quickly and went to Him. Now Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was in the place where Martha met Him.โ€

(John 11:29-30)

Jesus stayed where Martha left Him. He did not enter the village on His own, nor did He approach Lazarusโ€™ tomb until He was invited by the sisters.

Even though He had the power to raise the dead, He waited โ€” honoring their agency, presence, and request. He responded only when called for.

In Revelation 3:20, Jesus echoes this same pattern:

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in…”

This shows that while Satan manipulates spiritual laws to sneak in consent through deception and confusion, Jesus abides by them fully.

He does not override free will.
He comes when invited.

He Came in Humility โ€” He Will Return in Glory

The first time Jesus came, He entered as a baby, wrapped in weakness, born into human vulnerability. He submitted Himself to time, space, and the suffering of the world.

But the second coming will not be in silence or hiddenness.
He will return in radiant power, as King of Kings, accompanied by angelic armies.

And yet โ€” He still waits.

This time, we must invite Him.

He honors the laws of consent. Not even God violates the sacred freedom of the heart. We must ask, open, and prepare the way.

Consent, Invitation, and Cosmic Law

There is deep spiritual law woven into the fabric of the universe:
What you allow in, will live within.

This is why Satan targets thoughts, identity, sexuality, and culture โ€” he knows that if he can convince us to agree, even unconsciously, he gains ground.

But Jesus โ€” who holds all authority โ€” chooses to wait for invitation. Because love that is not chosen is not love at all.

The Return of the King

If time is a circle, and we are nearing the Sabbath of creation, then now is the moment โ€” not to panic, but to prepare.

Just as the Jews begin preparing six hours before sundown, we may be in those final hours of day six, approaching the cosmic Shabbat.

And before that rest begins, we must each answer the quiet knock on the door of our hearts.

Will we open it?
