Creativity Was Never Meant to Be Separate
One of the quiet assumptions woven throughout modern culture is that God belongs in religious spaces while creativity belongs everywhere else.
We often invite Him into our struggles.
We ask Him to help us through suffering.
But how often do we invite Him into our artwork?
Our businesses?
Our engineering?
Our writing?
Our classrooms?
Our music?
Our scientific discoveries?
Our games?
Our inventions?
Our everyday work?
Scripture paints a different picture.
The same God who filled Bezalel with wisdom to create the Tabernacle also created the laws of physics, the colors of flowers, the songs of birds, and the imagination that allows us to dream of worlds that do not yet exist.
When we intentionally exclude Him from our creativity, we often discover that our work becomes centered on ourselves.
The Bible calls separation from God sin because separation slowly disconnects us from the very source of life.
But when we invite Him into the process, creativity becomes something more than self-expression.
It becomes participation.
Instead of asking, “What can I make?”
We begin asking, “Lord, what would You like us to create together?”
